Here is a good straight forward tactic that anyone can use... you just have to be able to recognize the possibility of this pattern during a game - that is see it - and be able to set it up in order to pull the wool over the eyes of your opponent. What makes a really strong player such a good player is just how well they know the basics of chess... for example:
